Your Team
The people behind your care
Good care comes down to the people delivering it. Our team brings together psychiatric expertise, behavioural knowledge, and therapeutic support, working closely alongside you and, where helpful, your family.

Jon Cookson
Co-Founder, Sanz Healthcare
Behavioural Regulation Specialist
Jon Cookson is a Behavioural Regulation Specialist with more than 30 years of experience supporting people with mental health, emotional wellbeing, and behavioural change.
Originally trained as a Psychiatric Nurse, he now helps individuals understand and manage the relationship between thoughts, emotions, behaviour, and everyday functioning.
At Sanz Healthcare, Jon works alongside Dr Luisa Sanz, providing behavioural assessment, coaching, and therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and adults. His approach draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and practical regulation strategies, helping people build resilience, healthier habits, and a more meaningful life.
“When people learn to regulate more effectively, they gain greater freedom to live according to what matters most to them.”
Monica Cookson
Recreational Therapist
Monica Cookson is a Recreational Therapist at Sanz Healthcare, supporting children, young people, and adults to improve their mental health and wellbeing through meaningful activity, engagement, and connection.
Drawing on a person-centred, strengths-based approach, she helps people build confidence, resilience, and social skills using purposeful activities tailored to their interests, abilities, and goals.
Working alongside the wider team, Monica creates therapeutic opportunities that encourage participation, build self-esteem, and reduce isolation. Her work is particularly valuable for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and autism, and challenges with confidence or social interaction, helping them move beyond symptoms and engage more fully in life.
“Wellbeing grows when people are supported to reconnect with what matters to them and engage in activities that bring purpose, enjoyment, and connection.”
